Gary McKinnon

Nasa gets 17billion dollars of public money a year in funding and along comes an autistic man from the UK and breaches there security easily, showing them how inept they are at their job, how embarrassing!
Apart from putting a huge smile on my face and everyone else’s Gary McKinnon did an amazing job for Nasa in showing up major flaws in their system that companies just like Nasa would and are now paying many millions for. Then it turns sour as the US authorities overact alarmingly and seek a petty retribution for having large amounts of egg on their face.
Gary McKinnon, an asperger syndrome sufferer (a type of autism) working from his home computer with no funding and on a slow 56k connection comepletely humiliated the great multibillion dollar Nasa so much so that you have to laugh at their complete incompetence to run anything to do with computers. However he has now for the last seven years been paying the price for it. They should give him a medal for it and not condemn him and not seek retribution for their utter humiliation.
Time and time again governments in the UK and America have shown their total inability to hold information securely but they keep wanting more and more of our information, much of which is sensitive and private on government computers.
They should give Gary a medal because he found out their security problems for them, but no, Nasa and the American authorities are seeking revenge for the humiliation that they have brought on themselves by being so incompetant.
What quite was his crime, Gary McKinnon like millions like him believe quite rightly, that Nasa are hiding information regarding UFO’s that we have a democratic right to know about, so he is more awake than the majority but that is no crime and I for one commend him for it. He was not a malicious hacker giving viruses to everyone, only one seeking the truth and as far as the humiliation that he caused Nas, Nasa did that to themselves by being so incompetant, someone was going to do it sooner or later and Nasa should be pleased that it was Gary and not somebody malicious.
Gary McKinnon is autistic, therefore as is well known with autism, his sense of when “to tow the line” is diminished, “they do their own thing” in other words and he saw nothing wrong in what he was doing. I do not see anything wrong in what he was doing, it is about time the pathetic charade kept up by Nasa was exposed, but I realise the dangers in what he was doing, as an autistic he would not have done to the same extent.
The mainstay of management for aspergers is behavioral therapy, focusing on specific deficits to address poor communication skills, obsessive or repetitive routines therefore it is obvious that his condition would be likely to cause some behavioral oddities. With over 21% of Americans suffering from a known serious mental disorder you would have assumed they might have a little more sympathy but apparently not, no account of his condition appears to have been taken into consideration, instead they are threatening him with a sentence that well may mean he is locked up in an American prison for the rest of his life.
Gary is obviously an intelligent young man that has a natural interest in UFO’s and the truth, which is more than can be said about Nasa who hide the truth and he has suffered enough in the seven years of fighting his extradition already without undergoing anymore, he has paid for his so called crime over and over again. Nobody knows, least of all Gary, what might happen to him if he is extradited to America as recent totally inhumane and illegal torture of prisoners by American authorities have exposed yet again.
Gary was not a malicious hacker and he could spend the rest of his life in an American prison for a crime that in reality if we had the ability so many of us would commit with no remorse or any feeling that we were doing anything wrong, I would see it as just finding out the truth that is being hidden from us.
Gary has done a good job in highlighting other issues, bringing to the forefront the issue of extradition procedures that are grossly in favour of the Americans, apart from illegal ones carried out which are coming to light.
British courts are awarding an astonishing 89% of American extradition requests, while only seven in ten requests by the UK are being are being granted, time to do something about that surely and we thank Gary again or highlighting that fact, maybe the Americans will wish they had behaved with a little less pettiness but why do the British authorities allow the American authorities to have their own way.
I do hope that extradition procedures are looked at by our politicians, however they have proved to be a spineless lot with many after saying they backed Gary backing down when the time came for them to make a stand, except for one notable exception, the MP Andrew Mackinlay who resigned in disgust at the u-turn by 64 labour MPs who should be named and shamed, because although previously among 74 MP’s signing motions supporting Gary’s campaign for him to be tried in the UK and to have the extradition treaty between the US and the UK re-examined cowardly and spinelessly backed down when only ten labour MPs had the gall to vote for a review in a recent parliamentary debate.
The whip system showing again how powerless MPs are to vote in the way that their own morals are telling them.
From what I understand Gary did not find out anything of particular importance but UFO files have been kept secret for sixty years at least that we know of, but any sighting is always denied and covered up, but as governments deny it all and suggest they do not exist, Why did Nasa have a picture of a UFO on their files, if UFO’s do not exist as we are told to believe.
Gary was found out for downloading a picture of a UFO that would prove in my opinion that Nasa at least think or know that they exist, so we should praise Gary for exposing that lie.
Nasa can’t have it both ways, if they exist what was wrong in Gary trying to find out the truth, if they don’t, then what harm was he doing.
Nasa themselves are telling us they do exist by making such a big thing about Gary’s exploits.
If this carries on and Gary is extradited Nasa will be laughed at, credibility will fall further and the gulf will widen further between government departments and the trust that ordinary citizens will have in them, if there is any left.
This is a complete US and UK government fiasco and show of pettiness and incompetence.
Shame on the labour MP’s who said they would back Gary,
Shame on Nasa and the CIA
If the American authorities continue to show their pettiness about being shown up as complete idiots they will become the loser, they are supposed to act as adults and should behave in a humane and responsible fashion.
Gary McKinnon is a hero to many and that surely is the last thing the authorities wanted and if he is extradited it will not go away and they will be shamed further, and the bigger the hero Gary will become.
The fact that the American authorities are also annoyed that Gary did not want to be extradited should also come as no surprise, the American government record on the treatment of political prisoners is alarming to say the least, just ask any Guantanamo bay prisoner who has never had the right to a trial, some of whom have been released after a while with no charge brought against them with tales of how they were tortured. So who in their right mind would want to enter as a prisoner into a country where civil liberties and human rights are being comepletely ignored.
Gary has also raised other questions, If Nasa gets 17billion dollars a year, what on earth did all this money get spent on, a huge amount was supposed to have been spent on security, the Obama administration has given them a further 15billion in security upgrades alone, so where did all this money go, perhaps they are more than embarrassed by Gary in that he uncovered a fraud of mammoth proportions because there security, despite all this money being spent was obviously so pathetic that one autistic man named Gary McKinnon working on his home computer could beat all that money and so called experts.
I believe American taxpayers need to ask a lot more questions about what the money was spent on, and still is, and who was given government contracts to oversee security that was obviously a complete waste of money.
To allow him to be extradited is a complete farce, unless of course the Americans want to give him a job fixing their computer security which I doubt.
Jealousy is a strange thing.
As a true like-minded honest individual, also seeking the truth, I wish Gary McKinnon all the best.
