Religion has been the main cause behind virtually all wars, and is probably the most divisive issue that has separated mankind from living peacefully together.
I am going to be hard on religion, for it has a big problem and the need for change is staring them in the face.
My opinion is that we should have our own personal beliefs and the freedom in which to follow them.
We should not be dictated to or held up by dictatorships, which do not understand the changing world, or want it, or see the benefit of followers being made more aware.
This is despite, there own huge knowledge, which they do not pass on, preferring to keep them in ignorance as otherwise they would not only lose control, but also lose the huge revenue from there followers.
It is a highly questionable moral state, when you realise why they are holding people back, purely to keep control over others for economic reasons.
It was devised by those in charge, to control the masses, and is now outdated and holding us all back.
Even some of the rules of the church are devised to keep their numbers up in an immoral way, for instance in the Catholic Church.
They still insist that when a Catholic marries someone outside of the church, the children have to be brought up a catholic, a handy tool indeed to keep there numbers and the coffers full.
Also with a morality like that, and if one was cynical, their stance on abortion has to be questioned as to whether it was made with their calculators rather than on moral grounds.
It has had it's chance to change, but still insists on morally unacceptable standards, of which many priests, vicars and leaders have been well aware of, which is why now, they are running out of preachers, and the church is in a precipitous state.
I admit freely, it does offer some comfort, but the comfort received is at a cost, if it is any real comfort at all.
Religious bodies have adapted badly, and only to suit the churches or religions own needs, and have forgotten its true heritage.
It is not a perfect world, and I am sure in the past, it has been of immense use, but and in this case, it is similar to politics, its aims are not natural, universal or harmonious, but all about personal power and greed.
The Vatican for one does not condone any such communication of the so-called dead or realisation that the energy of the spirit or soul, seems to exist after death.
This is a strange one, since they regularly practice these themselves in the Vatican, with communication with the so-called dead to seek guidance and knowledge.
It is perhaps a shame there own guides are not of a higher level.
I wonder why they keep this knowledge at bay, I can only suppose that if people realised how normal this is, and that it can be done in peace and quiet at home just as effectively, their churches would be empty.
Ancestor Worship
Ancestor worship went on far before our modern church bodies, and was normal and accepted, it is only the current type of religion that does not encompass that idea, to there followers anyway.
Beliefs are so important, it should be so crucial in so many areas, if you could get the people together, as one body, we could achieve so much and politics would ultimately crumble or change drastically, to realise our personal and communal responsibility to nature and the earth.
The church could still have a part to play, but only if it wakes up and changes drastically, but will the governing bodies admit to there own failure in time, and risk losing their own positions, I think not.
In a perfect world they would, as it is, and if they don't, I welcome their demise.
The old beliefs were surprisingly, often more moral and more open-minded, and this despite the cruelty that went on around many of them.
However, the way the governing bodies of the religions, have held back there knowledge, can never be condoned, and why has to look at they have not passed on this knowledge, preferring to keep everyone in ignorance at all costs.
In an age when 76% of women in England believe in Mediums, they are surely missing a huge opportunity.
(Figure taken from the 'Wright Stuff' survey, on TV on the 9th of June 2002).
There is too much religious pomp and regalia, too much self importance about it all, where did the humility go? this is all so outdated and sanctimonious, and it makes religion an easy target for those who foresee its demise, which so many do now.
Ceremony and collective consciousness
Religion in ancient times was more practical with ceremonies held at exact times of the year, for spiritual and practical reasons.
There wise men were often astrologers, who had a better understanding of nature, and the relationships between the Earth and the planets than we have today.
The whole idea of ceremony, and getting people together, originally was to join there minds together, their thinking, in a form of collective consciousness, which could be a very powerful force when objective and harmonised. This unfortunately is little understood these days.
However, this can still be strong, even at a distance, as long as people are harmonised and thinking the same thoughts.
I believe this harmony is coming, but Religion has done very little to promote it, and I believe in has actually held it back.
The music in churches does raise the vibration, and help meditation and clear thought, however, peace and individuals thinking collectively can be just as effective, and without payment to anyone.
It also has to be asked, what is the purpose in halfway measures, why get all these people together, and not teach them how to meditate and train there thoughts appropriately, by holding back information from them.
Why do people in religion or power, need so many rules, is this another form of power and what reason does it serve as we are all individuals and religion, or beliefs particularly is very personal.
Religion used to be based on astrology, which was both accurate and practical; religion seems to have lost the awareness of the importance in nature, and some past practical knowledge.
Religion needs to take a good hard look at people’s views and thought changes and see the changes and needs of the people and move with the times to be of any use at all.
Spiritualist Churches
I am not having a go at any 'one' religion, but religion in general.
Division even in the churches themselves seems all too rife, and often unexpected, but is this just a sign of the confusion the churches are in themselves.
Even in the spiritualist churches in Great Britain there are huge splits, and they have certainly failed dismally to capture the imagination of the majority, despite a frantically fast growing interest and realisation of the true importance of this subject.
The major Spiritualist church body in the UK, has a union, the SNU, running it, and they have so many rules that those wanting to do anything with it, spend more time following the rule book, than getting on with spiritual matters like teaching or healing.
Jealousy, even among mediums is a sickening reminder of how humans can be, but then their popularity is based on how good their messages are, rather than how good there philosophy is.
I have been to some dismal spiritualist churches, where the atmosphere is far from welcoming, and I have come out feeling worse than when I went in.
This I believe is because of the importance placed on getting a message.
Too many people go along for evidence, and simply to get a message, without understanding what it is about or giving anything back.
They bring there troubles to church, take a message and leave, without giving any thought to the fact, that this should just be evidence that they themselves could and should receive.
It becomes a weekly ‘pilgrimage’ but all they do is take.
It is not their fault, but the fault of the churches.
The churches or centers have become money machines, and the way to attract more people through the door is too give them as many messages as possible.
This is fine, as a start, but not enough is done to say to them, that they can do the same thing through meditation at home, or in the quiet.
It is becoming to much of a show, on a regular basis, when a show should be just a demonstration to show them another way.
Understanding of what is happening and progression for the recipient should be the main aim, rather than a shortsighted approach to keep people coming through the door.
However, as a start I strongly recommend going to visit one, as the churches are run by volunteers, and the messages and guidance given is both practical and good, and it avoids you being 'ripped off' if you are uncertain of where to go to.
There are hundreds tucked away in even the smallest of towns, often asking a local taxi driver, is the best way to find them as they do not advertise much, but they are open to all the public, and could not care less what faith you are.
Healing is freely given, with many healers sitting quietly in the audience, do not be afraid to ask, as there is always someone only to willing to help, and the results, from my own personal experience can be quite remarkable.
Healers are the unsung heroes; they give for nothing and see it often as their life's work and purpose.
They are remarkable and often very normal people that just want to help, it is lovely and refreshing to see in these selfish times in which we live currently.
Yes, I do recommend a visit; 'Spirit' are very gentle with the uninitiated or newcomer.
They will not frighten you with messages of gloom but provide enough information to get you started, and besides, the spiritualist churches do have worthwhile guidelines, which are clearly followed.
They still have, I believe, the most worthwhile and unselfish religion and their beliefs are the closest to the truth that one can find in a main church, certainly in the UK.
Religions of the World
It is worth pointing out that in their thinking and beliefs, British churches and some of those in the rest of Europe are the odd ones out.
Most of the rest of the world believe wholeheartedly in the afterlife, and it is at the centre of their religion and beliefs.
If you look at Poland, Russia and the neighboring countries, they all believe in the afterlife and have grown up believing, and consequently have some excellent mediums.
Equally in the Asia and the east, there religions all encompass it, as do the Arab states, and most of Africa.
America stands out as being the main one, who does not encompass anything to do with the afterlife, despite being the home of the American Indians, whom they obviously learnt nothing form in wiping them out.
Australia too is similar in their non-believing, although the original stock, the Aborigines, of course did.
In that regard those two countries have gone sadly backwards and lost an incredible wealth of knowledge.
Great Britain and it's early settlers have a lot to answer for, changing many islanders long held beliefs, ceremonies and native culture but this has happened time and time again throughout the world, in wiping out native people and cultures who understood nature in the cause of ‘civilising ‘ them.
We could have learnt so much from them if we had not been so arrogant and greedy, but that is our loss.
There knowledge of living with nature, in many cases has been lost for good in the cause of so called progress.
However, as with the spiritualist church, even those countries holding beliefs about nature and the afterlife are still jealous of each other and do not yet know how to live in harmony.
Man seems to find arguments and wars, based on little differences in their faiths, but these differences are promoted by the churches and religions, and not by the people there.
One God
One God and mine is the only one.
Every one has to have or claims the best messiah and theirs, of course has to be the only one.
This is an incredibly selfish and arrogant view, a typically male one, and naturally as it is selfish, it is so wrong.
This is also the source behind the many conflicts caused by religious beliefs.
If only we could understand the others point of view, but we find this difficult because nobody wants to give in, and we always have our religion to back up our argument.
We, or most of us in the UK, think of Jesus as being 'the' Son of God, and not 'a' Son of God.
How stupidly arrogant again.
I am not putting him down at all, for he was a remarkable healer, medium and philosopher, but to suggest he was the only one is ludicrous.
He was one of many throughout the ages.
This small difference is crucial, and creates division, where there should be none.
Each religion has it's messiah, and there is still a huge lack of understanding, partly because the religions themselves, herald their messiah as the best and 'sell' them to us.
It is up to the religious leaders to learn to encompass others beliefs and religions, and find out more about them, and the sooner they do the better.
It is also not surprising, that serious question marks about religion are appearing now at this time of great change in mankind's history.
It is no coincidence that it is the women who are taking the lead as they think differently, they are far less warlike and in tune with the Earth and it's energies.
The more that women are held back, the faster there eventual surfacing, as the new world and religious leaders will be.
It is only a matter of time, and this is written by a man.
God is an Energy
We all have our own idea of what God is, and rightly so, and this debate will go on and on.
As it stands now, and as the churches portray him or it, it is illogical, and we have trouble accepting their explanation because of this.
This is probably there main problem as it leaves us unconvinced at the very least.
May I put forward this explanation, without hopefully, upsetting anyone.
'God is love' it is an energy, and as such, it should not be personified.
It is the positive, as opposed to the devil, which is the negative.
It starts with positive thought, and that is personal to us, it is our choice that is our freedom of choice, and ultimately gives us our choice of freedom to progress.
This is a mental and spiritual progression, but will always affect the material.
If we lead a material, selfish life, then the mental and spiritual has little chance to materialise, because material thoughts are basically negative.
If we are negative, and only looking for material rewards, we become imbalanced, not contented and ultimately ill at ease, which will lead to dis-ease or disease.
Anything mental effects the physical, it is ultimately from the same energy.
It is worth considering that God may be a mis-spelling of good, and equally therefore perhaps the Devil, or D'evil, could be 'of evil'.
They are thought patterns of positive and negative, and thought is a very strong energy.
It is all about personal choice.
How we lead our lives is up to us.
Religion at Home
Religion is a very personal thing.
As our experiences we go through are all different according to our chosen pathway, Karmic issues to be sorted out will all be very personal and again as individuals what we are hear to learn will be personal to the soul.
These of course are all interconnected.
It is in our own peace and quiet that we find the answers to these conundrums.
We get help with them of course, we are given tests and in the form of experiences time after time until we work them out of our system.
No individual is spared, however high and mighty, however well revered they may be.
We can learn as much from sitting on a quiet beach or a walk in the country, or sitting quietly on the toilet as we can from going to church.
We can learn as much from others suffering, from others ups and downs, from the so called lowliest soul and from life in general as we can from a church.
We can learn from experiences, and the more of life’s experiences we have, the more we learn.
Do not judge those who are making mistakes, those who have a zest for life, as they are sometimes learning faster than those who hide under a blanket and fear life.
It is up to the individual how they handle it all.
It is a glorious feeling to watch someone who has been making mistakes and suffering, and being tested a lot, finding peace at the end of a lot of torment.
We Have Nothing to Hide
True freedom is being who we are, the real us inside, and not an act that we put on for other people.
It is the freedom to be able to do what we want, without the constrictions that other people’s values put on us. Those are mostly the view of the churches, and we feel we must abide by, in order to conform.
Let’s be clear about those morals, and moral judgments that the church places on us, they are imposed on us purely to control us as far as the churches are concerned.
Of course, morality is important, but we should be strong enough to be able to decide for ourselves, and make our own decisions, and mistakes if we get it wrong, and we should not be able to hide behind the churches confessionals or forgiveness if we get it wrong.
We all get things wrong, at all levels, and the church is not above getting things wrong either and some of there decisions have been and continue to be, blatantly wrong.
When morality, just for the sake of morality, causes thousands of innocent lives to be lost as well as immense suffering, as in the case of the Catholic Churches argument about not being allowed to wear condoms, to prevent the spreading and the catching of aids, there has to be something visibly wrong.
There is no or very little personal freedom in what the current religions drum into us.
Quite the reverse, they have in fact taken away the natural freedom we should have by right.
If we as individuals have made a lot of mistakes, the body of the churches has made enormous blunders; in it’s own ignorance and must learn, as we have to, what they are, and what to do about it.
As individuals we can learn by understanding our own personal fight and test, and can do something about it, but the churches, because of their structure, size and politics, can’t move as quickly, and always appear one step behind.
The religions in the past, and possibly still now since nothing has appeared to have changed very much, still promote segregation; jealousy and wars and because of a lack of understanding, World peace still appears to be not part of their agenda or aim.
In the past, and still currently they have taught us shame, shame to express ourselves, shame in our own bodies.
They have made the natural unnatural; made obscene what should be natural, made nudity itself obscene, and in doing so brought about perversion where there should be none.
When they colonized ‘uneducated’ civilizations with there own set ideas, through the missionaries, they actually took away the more natural and healthier natural lifestyles, and there heritage and history which we had already lost and gave them prejudice, jealousies and fears instead.
The mistaken missionaries not only took away the so called ‘backward ones’ right to freedom, but lost great knowledge that might have been of great benefit to us as well, and that we might well have learned a lot from.
Religion sadly, also gave us judgment, they sit ‘on high’, judging us, and take on a supposedly self-assumed right to judge.
They also have given there followers, the right to judge others.
We have no right to judge others, as we do not understand another’s path, or what they are supposed to go through in order to learn.
The only beliefs one should hold are our own beliefs, individual beliefs that are tailored to our own spiritual pathway and purpose, and that knowledge can be found in our own heads.
These beliefs are deep seated within us, and take whatever course our own pathway wishes them to take, whether good or bad.
Some may be perceived as negative, but by seeing and experiencing the negative, we learn from them, and see where we should be going.
There is no mistake in making mistakes, and people should not be judged if they do wrong, everyone has to learn.
Progression is an individual fight.
See life through your own eyes, thoughts and pathway, and experience whatever is natural in our own eyes, and not what is seen to be natural by others.
The crime is in not experiencing life, in not expressing who we are, in not following our own desires, whether they may be seen to be immoral by the standards of the churches or not, that is totally immaterial.
Life after all, should be enjoyed and experienced, and this applies to all things including the physical as we are here in the physical, the physical should be enjoyed and experienced fully.
Not to do so, is the unnatural, the doing is natural.
This however does not give you the right to do whatever you please, at the slightest whim.
It has to be understood that we can only judge ourselves, and that is our personal responsibility and most important responsibility.
We may have certain thoughts, but it is always our own decision as to whether we carry them out.
We must always consider the consequences of our actions and whether it may hurt us or others, if it does, then we must face the consequences.
